Owning at Langdale
Secure your holiday future in the Lakes
The Langdale Estate nesstles between the villages of Chapel Stile and Elterwater in the heart of the Langdale Valley, pretty much in the centre of the Lake District National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The location is ideal for enjoying the very best the area has to offer while the site is a haven of tranquillity and relaxation.
The Langdale Estate is owned by Langdale Owners Plc and, as the name suggests, its shareholders are all timeshare owners. Originally established in the early 1980s by a partnership of local developers, the business was later acquired by brewers Matthew Brown, followed by Scottish & Newcastle. In 1996, when the opportunity arose to purchase the Estate once again, it was acquired by Langdale Owners Plc, with around half of the ownership becoming shareholders.
Before the introduction of timeshare development at Langdale, the site offered a range of basic holiday accommodation. Earlier still, it was home to the historic Elterwater Gunpowder Works. If you are interested in learning more about the site’s rich history, please see the information below.
